It has been around 11 years since the “Frimousses des Créateurs” started. Thanks to numerous jewelry and fashion designers, photographers and sculptors’ unique creations, the UNICEF is able to fund its program in Darfur to help disaster children which are the main victim of the humanitarian crisis.
Last year’s Frimousses were exhibited at the Petit Palais. The auction sale raised more than 185 000 Euros.
This year’s event will take place at Théâtre du Châtelet from from 18th till the 23rd of November 2014. Entrance is for everyone and for free. The auction sale will be held on November 24, same place, at 8.00 PM.
The 2014 Frimousses are inspired by the unique art of opera. The creations feature a wide range of dolls, photographs and sculptures. Their main inspirations? Opera singers, ballet dancers, princesses and actresses. Sue Dumke for Palais Garnier offers a beautiful Audrey Hepburn. The Opéra de Paris recreates Swan Lake’s Odette. Pasquale Bruni gives a timeless Maria Callas. Disney meets Nina Ricci for a cute little doll in celebration of It’s a small world’s 50 years. As for Lebanese designers, Elie Saab and Georges Hobeika are still as faithful as ever to this event: Saab offers Rose, a gorgeous doll inspired from his SS2014 couture collection; Hobeika creates Anna in a dazzling dress sitting in her comfortable seat at Théâtre du Chételet.
Before the exhibition, we deliver to you an “avant-premiere” look at the creations:
